It can be lovely to have a cuddle before bed – but people who co-sleep wake each other up six times a night on average, according to a study. As the name suggests, this sees couples sleep in separate bedrooms to maximise their shut-eye. 'Separate sleeping arrangements allow each person to optimise their own sleep environment,' she wrote on The Conversation. 'This behaviour is known to promote better sleep and, in turn, better overall health.' Although sleeping in separate beds is sometimes seen as a sign of relationship trouble, this is 'not necessarily the case'.
