Timaru woman sentenced for burglary of restaurant

Jasmine Kimberley Savage, 25, has been sentenced to 18 months' intensive supervision for burglary and obstructing a police officer. A woman who police spotted lugging a keg of beer from a Timaru restaurant outside opening hours has admitted a burglary charge. The 25-year-old pleaded guilty to burglary and obstructing a police officer, for which Judge Joanna Maze sentenced her to 18 months' intensive supervision with judicial monitoring, when she appeared in the Timaru District Court on Tuesday. Police located the man at Savage's Timaru address about 8am on December 28, 2020. “The defendant denied all knowledge of his whereabouts and stated to police she had not seen him in a matter of months,” McRae said.
