The New York Mets announced the injury, saying Sunday that the former NFL quarterback is limited to taking batting practice with his ankle taped. Somebody asked me whether I think he’ll be a major league player at some point. It reminded everyone that the Yankees’ Mickey Mantle suffered a serious knee injury early in his career when he tripped on an outfield sprinkler in the 1951 World Series.
