A woman constable with a victim of rebel violence after the latter was felicitated in Simdega on Sunday. What struck everyone present was how victims of rebel violence and their family members were caught in the same mesh of pain. Moved by their plight, PLFI area commander Mahesh Singh's father Jholu Singh openly asked the police to "find my boy somewhere in Bolba area or Simdega town and fix him". Another PLFI area commander Ramu Ganjhu's widowed mother Mission Devi lamented her son was of no help. Simdega SP Ranjan Singh said so far 131 civilians had been killed in Simdega in the past 15 years.
