A series of severe thunderstorms ripped through southwestern Manitoba Friday night, dropping walnut-sized hail and funnel clouds in parts of the region. The storm system originated in Saskatchewan, where four confirmed tornadoes were reported, according to Environment Canada. at 9:49 p.m., according to a preliminary report by Environment Canada. Environment Canada reported wind gusts of close to 100 km/h were observed in Sioux Valley Dakota Nation, west of Brandon. No damage has been reported, Environment Canada said.
