Thumb not little finger to be marked with indelible ink at the Elpitiya PS pollNewsThe Election Commission has notified that the thumb and not the little finger of the voter’s left hand will be marked with indelible ink during the election to the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha scheduled for October 26, 2024. The EC said as the little finger of the voter’s left hand was marked with the appropriate mark during the Presidential election held on September 21, 2024, the decision has been taken to mark the little finger instead of the thumb in order to address potential issues regarding the marking of voters with the appropriate mark as specified in Section 53A(3) of the Local Authorities Elections Ordinance(Chapter 262). The Election Commission said that if the thumb finger is missing on the voter’s left hand, any other finger on his/her right hand will be marked with the appropriate mark. You can share this post!
