Photo: PTINew Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday highlighted the success of one of his pet schemes, the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which aims to provide free cooking gas connections to poor families. In the last four years, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government has given 10 crore LPG connections. Also Read: The hits and misses of Narendra Modi governmentUnder the Ujjwala scheme, the Centre provided free cooking gas connections to 30.98 million poor families. The Ujjwala scheme provides financial support of Rs1,600 for each cooking gas connection to poor households. “Today, for every 100 families, 81 families have gas connections,” Modi said.
