A family has spent three years and more than $200,000 getting consent to build a new house, but it’s not the dream home they had originally planned. Beaven submitted two designs during the application, hoping the second, less intrusive, option would be approved. The council had received one other complaint about Mountfort, Higgins said, which was still being progressed. After that decision and following advice from the council, Beaven had the house redesigned again and another application submitted.
