The huts of brick kiln workers turned into ashes following an accidental fire on the outskirts of Garlgunji village of Khanapur taluk on Wednesday. more-inIn a heart-rending incident, a three-year-old girl was burnt alive in an accidental fire in a hut adjacent to a brick manufacturing unit on the outskirts of Garlgunji village of Khanapur Police Station limits on Wednesday afternoon. According to the police, the deceased, Amrita Yallappa Hamani, was engulfed by the fire while she was playing on her own. By the time the hutment dwellers, who are daily wage workers, noticed the fire, the girl and the animals were dead. On receipt of information, fire tenders rushed to the spot and took nearly three hours to douse the fire.
