A Rajshahi court has sentenced three people to death and another one to life imprisonment for abducting and killing a 10-year-old schoolboy in Rajshahi in 2014. The three convicts are Majedur Rahman Sagor, 19, Nazmul Haque, 20, and Ripon Sarkar Liton, 20. Rajshahi Speedy Tribunal judge Shirin Kabita Akhtar delivered the verdict in presence of the convicts around 4pm on Tuesday, said court police’s Inspector Khurshida Banu Kona. But later demanded Tk10 lakh as ransom from Rabbi’s father Ali Hossain, prompting him to file a general diary at Mohanpur police station. After failing to establish contact with the kidnappers on December 24 as scheduled, Ali had lodged an FIR with the police.
