Romano was let off the hook by the Jays’ game-winning rally in the bottom of the frame, and picked up a win on his cap day. He and Pasquantino will laugh about it next spring when they’re playing for Italy at the World Baseball Classic. With the score tied 3-3 in the seventh, Zimmer went in to run for Alejandro Kirk with one out and got picked off first base.
