KOTA KINABALU: Three teenage girls, believed to have been duped into vice, were rescued during a police raid on a budget hotel in Sandakan. The girls, all illegal immigrants aged 15, 16 and 17, were discovered when police barged into their hotel room at about 4pm on Monday. It is learnt that the girls begged the policemen to save them as they did not want to be prostituted. Sandakan police chief Asst Comm Mohd Azhar Hamin said they believe the girls had just arrived in the state and were promised good jobs. However, they were later told that they could earn lots of money through prostitution, he said in a statement on Tuesday.
