NewsThree special police teams, each consisting of three Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Police and three Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been dispatched to Kandy immediately on the instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), police said. Meanwhile, a police curfew has been re-imposed in the Kandy administrative district with immediate effect until further notice. Police have confirmed that several persons were arrested in connection to violent incidents reported last night.
