Three people were fatally shot and 10 more were injured at a wedding in Afghanistan after an argument over whether music could be played. Residents said they recognized the gunmen as local Taliban members, NBC News reported. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that the incident occurred after demands that the wedding party stop playing music, but he denied that the gunmen were members of the Taliban, according to NBC. ADVERTISEMENTHowever, an anonymous member of Taliban’s intelligence department, who was not authorized to speak to the media, told NBC that the gunmen were members of the group. A resident, who remained anonymous for fear of retaliation from the Taliban, told NBC the gunmen "were harsh in their arguments with the family holding a marriage ceremony and local residents."
