Three ready-made deli salads recalled amid listeria fears

Three types of ready-to-eat deli salads sold in Foodstuffs stores across New Zealand are being recalled due to the possible presence of Listeria bacteria. They are:Hawaiian pasta with creamy dressing (250g, 400g and in-store deli counters; use-by date July 11)Chicken Caesar penne (200g, 350g, and in-store deli counters; use-by date July 13)Loaded Potato (400gm and in-store deli counters- use by date July 12). The products are supplied by Spiers Food, a food production company that produces salads, fresh cut vegetables and in-deli store foods. It also warned that product sold at in-store deli counters could have a different use-by date to those listed above, as counters applied their own labels. To date, New Zealand Food Safety has not received any reports of illness, but if contaminated food is consumed there can be serious repercussions.
