MEXICO CITY — Prosecutors say three police officers have been killed and eight others wounded in a large-scale shooting attack in western Mexico. Two bystanders are also being treated for wounds in Sunday’s attack in the western state of Michoacán. The state prosecutors’ office said attackers targeted one patrol vehicle and then twice ambushed reinforcements that were sent in to help. The office did not identify which gang was behind the attack in the city of Zamora. Those are the Spanish initials of the violent Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
