Three people were rescued from a river in Canterbury overnight. Three people have been rescued after their vehicle got stuck while crossing a Canterbury river. The Hinds volunteer fire brigade was called out to reports of a vehicle stuck on Winslow road at about 9.30pm on Friday, after its driver attempted to cross a ford in the Hinds River and got stuck. The brigade used a four-wheel drive to rescue the three passengers.
