Two vehicles were involved in a serious crash at the intersection of Mitcham Rd and Hepburns Rd, near Ashburton, on Monday. Two children and an adult have died and a teenage girl is critically injured after a driver went through an intersection and crashed into another car near Ashburton. Emergency services were called to the crash at the intersection of Mitcham Rd and Hepburns Rd, north of Ashburton, just after 10am on Monday. He said the other car involved in the crash was heading north along Hepburns Rd and drove directly into the path of the other vehicle. Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Andrew Norris said two crews from Ashburton went to the crash site.
