KUANTAN: Three old mortar shells were found at an open space behind a petrol station in Jalan Semambu here on Saturday (Dec 9). Kuantan district police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said the mortar shells were found by a construction worker, who later contacted the police at 9am. "The bomb demolition squad was rushed to the area and investigations confirmed these were old mortal shells used in military training. "It was also confirmed the mortar shells do not pose any hazard to the people,” he said when contacted here Sunday (Dec 10). ACP Abdul Aziz said the mortar shells were later destroyed.- Bernama
