Three-month-old baby dies after being hit by a TRAIN alongside her own mother in Melbourne's east

A three-month old baby has died and her mother rushed to hospital after they were hit by a train in Melbourne's outer east. Emergency crews rushed to the horrifying scene at Kumbada Ave in Upwey at 5.10pm on Sunday evening, where a pram was found alongside the tracks. The child suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to hospital while the mother was rushed to hospital and placed under police guard. The site has been cordoned off with police tape as teams from Victoria Police, Ambulance, CFA and SES comb the scene. Police warned of major delays on the Belgrave line, with buses replacing trains between Belgrave and Upper Ferntree Gully.
