TTP's Jamaatul Ahrar faction claimed responsibility for the attackPESHAWAR: Three people were injured in a roadside bomb attack targeting the car of a senior government official on Peshawar’s Ring Road on Friday morning. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s Jamaatul Ahrar faction claimed responsibility for the attack. “A bomb blast occurred near Deputy Director PDMA Shakeel Khan’s official vehicle,” the PDMA spokesperson said, adding that the director and his assistant were safe. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the IED attack, but similar assaults in the past had been carried out by different Taliban factions. In November last year, Additional Inspector General (AIG) of K-P Police Ashraf Noor and his guard Habibullah were martyred in a suicide bomb attack on his convoy in the Hayatabad area of Peshawar.
