The Doctors Syndicate's Disciplinary Committee suspended three doctors from practicing the profession for a year over promoting a device that allegedly treats Virus C and Aids. The device is known in the media as "The Kofta Device". The three doctors were referred to the disciplinary committee in July, after they participated in promoting the device under the supervision of Major General Ibrahim Abdel Aaty before the completion of scientific tests. He told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the decision was the first of its type ever to be issued, against the doctors who participated in the promotion of the non-scientific Kofta Device.
