The dead were identified as 20-year-old Moni Begum, a pregnant woman and wife of Mosaddek Ajad, her aunt Afia Khatun, 50, and ambulance assistant Tusar, 18. The ambulance was carrying Moni along with her three relatives to Rangpur Medical College Hospital. The ambulance struck a truck parked in the Chowrapara neighborhood, said Razzak citing witnesses. Moni died on the spot while Afia and Tusar died hours after they were admitted to hospital, said Shafiqul Islam, assistant director of the hospital. The ambulance and the truck were taken to the local police station.
