DHAKA, July 10, 2023 (BSS) - A total of three dengue patients died and 889were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hourstill 8 am today. "During the period, a total of 574 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhakacity and 315 were admitted to different hospitals outside it," a pressrelease of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said. "This year, 76 deaths were reported from dengue disease while 269 died lastyear," the daily statement of the DGHS said. With the new cases, the total number of patients rose to 13,843 thestatement said, adding: "Some 10,514 patients were released from differenthospitals this year among the total patients." According to the DGHS data, dengue infection has increased five times sinceJanuary 1 to May 31, 2023.
