Three-day film festival in Shivamogga


The critically acclaimed Indian films that featured in the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India will be screened at the Karnataka Sangha and Kuvempu University campus in Shankaraghatta near here from Thursday to Saturday. The event, named the ‘Indian Panorama Film Festival’, is being organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations and Belli Mandala, the district unit of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy. K. Channabasappa, Additional Deputy Commissioner, told reporters on Monday that the film festival provides an opportunity for Shivamogga residents and university students to understand the recent trends in Indian cinema. Ikkeri will inaugurate the film festival. It will be followed by the screening of ‘Court’, a Marathi film directed by Chaitanya Tamhane.
