Three people were charged on Monday with procuring election materials without the electoral commission's permission. Ibrahim Haji, Mohammed Kanyare and Nurdin Kanyare were arraigned at Milimani law courts for contravening section 3 of Election Offences Act 2016. He was also charged with having the book purported to be the register of voters in Mandera North constituency. They were also accused of unlawfully procuring election materials - 33 filled and 50 blank form Ds used for the transfer of voters. But lawyer Nicholas Sumba said the offences his clients were charged with were fueled by internal politics in Mandera North.
