Hawke's Bay District Health Board is urging parents to check their children's immunisations are up to date after three cases were found in the region. Three people in Hawke's Bay have been found to have mumps, prompting the District Health Board (DHB) to urge parents to check their children's immunisations. One was a student from Hastings Boys' High School and the other two cases are adults. Hawke's Bay DHB medical officer of health Rachel Eyre said officials were following up with a number of contacts and have advised health professionals to be on alert for mumps. Anyone with suspected mumps should stay away from school, work or community gatherings until five days after swelling developed or until well, whichever was sooner.
