Three arrested in Meru fake recruitment crackdown


Three people were arrested on Tuesday for impersonating senior Meru county government officials in the pretext of conducting a recruitment drive. Eric Kiambati, Aron Thuranira, and Evans Gitonga were nabbed after they allegedly solicited bribes from residents in exchange for jobs. Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested the suspects after a number of victims raised the complaint at Meru police station. He cautioned residents against getting involved in false recruitment drives adding that the county has laid down job listing processes and procedures. These were detained at Meru police station as investigations into the ownership of the vehicles continue.
