Three Women Engineers Sue Uber Claiming Unequal Pay, Discrimination

Three more women engineers at Uber are speaking out about their treatment at the company, this time in San Francisco courts. On Wednesday, three engineers filed a lawsuit against the ride-hailing company, claiming that women and people of color (Latino, African American or American Indian) are "systematically undervalued" as part of the company's performance review system. It's not the first time Uber's performance review system has come under intense scrutiny this year. In June, an independent investigation led by former attorney general Eric Holder concluded that Uber needed to revamp the way it conducts its performance reviews in an effort to "eliminate bias". "In order to avoid unfair application and restore employee trust in the performance evaluation system, Uber should take steps to eliminate bias and misuse of the performance review process," Holder said.
