The three people arrested at the weekend in Eastleigh, Nairobi, in connection with an alleged register of voters in Mandera North were charged in a Nairobi court yesterday. Ibrahim Ahmed Haji, Mohamed Ahmed Kanyari and Noordin Ahmed Kanyari appeared before chief magistrate Francis Andayi. They were charged with voter listing offences, contrary to Section 3 of the Elections Act, 2016. They were also accused of obtaining election materials — transfer forms, 83 copies of IDs, an original acknowledgement slip and a notebook filled with 500 names of voters from different constituencies. Haji is separately accused of preparing a document purporting it to be a register of voters.
