Happ is one of three Blue Jays starting pitchers with a realistic shot at being picked for the American League all-star team. ( David Zalubowski / The Associated Press )It’s a pleasant development for the Blue Jays: all-star chatter includes at least three of their starters, in addition to the strong array of all-star quality position players on the roster. Jays manager John Gibbons spoke Monday with Royals manager Ned Yost — who will manage the AL side in San Diego — and Gibbons’ starters definitely came up in the discussion. It doesn’t appear any Blue Jays will earn an all-star berth via fan vote, but the team still has at least six players who will be part of the conversation among the all-star coaches and player peers who will factor in the naming of the remainder of the roster. Happ, and Aaron Sanchez, have all put together excellent seasons so far, and will be under consideration for all-star berths.
