Thousands of people gathered in Hamilton's Gage Park for a showing of the CBC broadcast of The Tragically Hip's concert in Kingston, Ont., on Saturday evening. It was the final show of the Tragically Hip Man Machine Poem concert tour. It wasn't the only place people gathered in Hamilton, but Gage Park drew the largest crowd Saturday night, one of more than 400 community viewing parties across Canada. Matthew Green, who spent $25,000 from his ward budget to put on the event, estimated there were between 5,000 and 10,000 people in Gage Park. Here are some highlights from the night.
