CAIRO – 21 August 2022: The General Authority of Red Sea Ports declared Sunday the arrival of "Wadi al-Karnak" ship, carrying 63,000 tons of wheat, from Romania. Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali al-Moselhy stated early in August that the strategic reserve of wheat was sufficient for up to 7.3 months, and that about four million tons of local wheat had been supplied so far. The minister added that since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, around 1.8 million tons of wheat of various origins have been imported. With regard to importing wheat from India, the minister explained that India is facing a real problem embodied in high temperatures and torrential rains. Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced his country's approval to sell grain and wheat to Egypt, the Italian Nova news agency reported.
