Thousands walked through the streets of downtown Charlottetown to take part in a healing walk for justice following the recent deaths of Indigenous Canadians Rodney Levi of the Metepenagiag Mi'kmaq Nation and Chantel Moore. The Indigenous Lives Matter Healing Walk for Justice is about to begin. As participants of the healing walk pour into Connaught Square, a lone red dress symbolizing murdered and missing Indigenous women and girls hangs from a tree as a reminder. I have family up that way and it affected us here and the people need healing," said Stephenson Joe, a participant of the walk. The issue of race-based police violence and the death of Rodney Levi are personal for some participants like Stephenson Joe.
