According to Billboard, Center Point Road now holds the record for the largest streaming debut week ever for a country album. While Rhett may now hold this important distinction when only looking at country music, his accomplishment doesn’t come close to matching the all-time best performance when all styles of music are included. So, while Center Point Road may now stand as the country album with the most first-week streams in America, is still only earned about one-twentieth as many plays on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify as the current record holder. That stat highlights that while streaming has taken over the music industry, some genres, like country music, still have a long, long way to go to catch up with those styles that championed and pioneered the new format, such as hip-hop.
