For over a decade, the artist and chef has used a sign saying “dicks” and displaying a phallic arrow to point at anti-abortion protesters outside Dunedin Hospital. “They call me the ‘dicks guy’.”Hamish McNeilly/Stuff Sam Sharpe, a Dunedin artist and chef, has led a counter-protest against anti-abortion protesters outside Dunedin Hospital over a decade. She, like the anti-abortion protesters around her, are regularly abused for their stance. During the debate on the amendment, Dunedin-based Labour list MP Rachel Brooking told Parliament there were often protesters outside Dunedin Hospital.
