According to its consolidated financial statements, HPCL’s net profit for the quarter rose sharply by 58 per cent to Rs 4,011 crore. In the same quarter last year, the company had posted a net profit of Rs 2,543 crore. The company reported revenue of Rs 1,24,053 crore, or over Rs 1.24 trillion, in the October to December quarter. Revenue from downstream petroleum operations increased 4.6 percent to more than Rs 1.24 trillion in the third quarter, up from Rs 1.18 trillion a year ago. Income from other operations also grew strongly, rising 23 percent to Rs 111.55 crore, compared to Rs 90.89 crore in the same quarter last year.
