Meet the young Kiwi family who restored their grand old house from halfway across the world, turning their rental property into their dream home. “We knew when we eventually returned to Wellington, the top flat would be too small for us,” says Chad. “It means the kids can have their stuff in one dedicated space so it doesn’t encroach on the rest of the house,” Anais says. One of their favourite overseas finds was a large abstract painting that now anchors one wall of the living room. Though they’re not ruling out another overseas posting, the family are happy to be back in Wellington and enjoying their renovated home.
