The standalone sequel to the 1996 hit made $80.5 million in ticket sales from 4,151 theaters in North America, according to studio estimates Sunday. Box Offie Mojo put the film’s four-day haul in North America at $90 million and overseas collection at $44 million, which means that the film has earned $134 million worldwide in its first four days. This figure (Rs 1171 crore) is higher than the lifetime collections of recent Indian blockbusters like Pathaan (Rs 1048 crore), Jawan (Rs 1150 crore), and Animal (Rs 930 crore). Even the current sensation Kalki 2898 AD is behind it having earned just over Rs 1000 crore worldwide in under a month.
