Bonlale Alo was put on a plane scheduled to depart from Calgary to Amsterdam and he is reported to have had an altercation with officials against his deportation. The refugee board documents say Alo was detained because he had made “concerning statements about how he would disrupt any removal from Canada”. “What the family knows is: he was in detention, he was put on a plane to be deported and there was an altercation. “It’s only after they know what happened that they can think about what steps to take,” he adds.
