Share:As the nation celebrates 74th Independence Day, certain questions spring up in my mind. A few of them are: what is freedom, what is the true sense of independence we are celebrating and what difference has this country made over years to celebrate. Media is kept under the tabs, making Pakistan’s ranking 145 indicated by the Reporter Without Borders, an international watchdog for media freedom. To be optimistic, one must consider that at least the situation has improved from past decades, where the concept of media freedom was naïve. Then comes the right to education, with Article 25-A giving the right to every citizen.
