Some 1,500 shops, mostly across the U.S. and Ireland, have used it to get even the most obscure products gathering dust on their shelves, online. The site only lets potential customers see what the toy store has in stock, and won't do transactions. At one point, a customer came in asking for a specific toy, saying they'd been looking all over town, recalls the toy store’s owner, Herman Hernandez. When the customer did a Google search, he says, they found the store’s Pointy page. “For local retailers, this is levelling the playing field.”
