Having a community member interview panel is an excellent opportunity for input. It’s good that the city will allow residents to meet the finalist at a reception. The city should have conducted a public survey early in the process, as KISD is doing. Residents should be able to meet candidates before a lone finalist is chosen. It’s hard to know how to gauge the proper level of public involvement.
