© Provided by The Canadian PressCalgary's city council has voted unanimously to see if it's possible to breathe new life into the lifeless deal to build a new arena for the Calgary Flames. The city and the Flames agreed on the arena deal more than two years ago and the initial estimate of $550 million was to be split between the two. But council voted Wednesday night to ask a third party to look into whether or not Flames ownership is interested in revisiting a potential partnership to build a new event centre. Gondek said it's too early to say if the previous deal will be brought back as a template if negotiations restart. It has been home to the Calgary Flames since its construction in 1983.
