more-inA third murder in as many days was reported from north-east district on Tuesday morning when a 25-year-old was shot dead near his residence in Usmanpur. The police said the motive behind the murder appears to be personal enmity. Rohit’s murder was preceded by the killings of 29-year-old Wazid Ali on Sunday night in Brahmpuri and 21-year-old Arif Hussain’s on Monday in Bhajapura. While the police are still investigating if Wazid and Arif’s murders are connected, Mr. Singla said the police are certain that Rohit’s murder was not connected to their murders. However, Mr. Singla declined to comment on whether the murders were a result of gang war.
