(File photo)Prominent Wellington barrister Francis Cooke, QC, has become the third generation of his family to be appointed a judge. The new judge is the son of former Court of Appeal president Lord Cooke of Thorndon, and the grandson of Justice Philip Cooke. His son Francis got his law degree from Victoria University, and a master's degree from the University of Cambridge, England. Announcing his new appointment, Attorney-General David Parker, said Cooke had a particular interest in the arts and chaired the Orchestra Wellington Board.
