It was only after checking his bank account did he realise that he had been robbed of ₹2.5 lakh. He asked the bank to block the cards, but the damage was done, even though he had not received a single alert of any transaction. The perpetrators had used the information in the documents to get the bank to change the contact details, including email id and phone number. Bank officials told Bagli that a man claiming to be ‘Linglud’ had come to the bank with a cheque and withdrawn money. We are also analysing CCTV footage from the bank,” said a senior police officer.
