Kamala Harris of California was elected as the next vice president of the United States, girls all over the country saw someone like themselves elected to the second-highest office in the country for the first time. Alice, age 12: It's just so good that Kamala was elected vice president. Caroline, age 12: I thought it was really cool when Kamala was elected vice president and that she is now a role model. Mariana, age 16: I think Kamala being vice president is a big step for the country since she's the first woman vice president we've ever had. Norah, age 7: I was really happy when Kamala was elected vice president.
