Canadian culinary books and blogs took the spotlight at the 20th annual Taste Canada Awards. Winners across seven categories – including single-subject cookbooks and food blogs – were announced at a ceremony in Toronto on Oct. 30. Taste of Persia (Artisan) by acclaimed Toronto writer Naomi Duguid won gold in the regional/cultural cookbooks category. The food travelogue has received numerous accolades, including the James Beard Award for Best Book of the Year, International. Vegetarian chef Nettie Cronish and registered dietitian Cara Rosenbloom took second place for their collection of whole food recipes, Nourish (Whitecap).
