NewsCorp reports that the company's local distributor, Thermomix In Australia Pty Ltd, also admitted to knowing 10 customers had been burnt before deciding to issue a public safety warning. Corporations that mislead consumers face penalties of up to $1.1 million for each instance of misconduct for breaching consumer laws. Thermomix is facing huge fines after confessing to misleading consumers over faulty products. According to NewsCorp, around 200,000 households have a Thermomix TM31, which retail for about $2000 each.
